The L-series line of Tilt-Shift / Macro lenses from Canon offer incredible versatility while delivering pristine optics. The 135mm prime lens from this series boasts exceptional edge-to-edge definition, macro down to 1:2, and a minimum focus distance of just 49cm (with a working distance of just 35cm). Capture fine detail, maximise depth-of-field, and get up close with this flexible lens.
Tilts and Shift lenses have movements that allow you to move the lens away from the central axis of the camera. This helps with distortion correction (shift) and depth of field control (tilt). Traditionally lenses are locked in to the axis of the body producing a plane of focus parralell to the imaging plane. Tilting the lens brings the plane of focus closer on one side and farther away on the other. Using this technique you can make a whole landscape or building sharp from forground to horizon. Or, you can create a narrow slice of focus for dramatic portrtaits and model-town effects.
