This lighting tool from Calumet is a clever dual-purpose umbrella that can be used in two distinct ways. Its white interior surface is backed by silver fabric with black backing. Used in this configuration, it provides a highly efficient source of bounced light, great for casting a flattering illumination on a portrait. However, if you need to get closer to the subject, you can remove the silver/black backing and shoot straight through the umbrella.
