Its internal structure consists of 14 elements in 10 groups, with 3 aspherical and one Extra-Low Dispersion, ensuring that it produces the absolute best in optical quality right the way through its zoom range.
Fujifilm has included a linear motor-driven system for autofocus, ensuring high-speed performance that acquires focus in as little as 0.1sec and operates silently, making the lens as useful for video as it is for stills. Fast and portable, the lens also finds room for an OIS (Optical Image Stabilier) which provides a four-stop handheld exposure advantage by controlling the effect of camera-shake. Also on-board is Fujifilm’s signature tactile control, with an aperture ring that makes the lens a pleasure to use.
