Nikon has incorporated its Vibration Reduction system into this lens, giving users up to four stops of stability for shooting handheld, at any focal length. In terms of the internal optical construction, the 80-400mm lens carries four ED (Extra-low Dispersion) elements and one Super ED glass element to correct chromatic aberration, as well as the kinds of optical colour defects that can occur at long focal lengths.
