The third iteration of the first full-frame mirrorless A7 camera, the A7 III takes the technology to new heights. Its 24.2MP Exmor R CMOS sensor is paired with a redeveloped BIONZ X processor, the result being a fearsomely powerful camera that produces 15 stops of dynamic range, 4K HDR video, 14-bit RAW capture even in burst mode, 5-axis in-body image stabilisation and so much more.
The autofocus system, reworked from previous models from the ground up, is named 4D focus, and features an enormous 693 phase-detection, and 425 contrast-detection AF points. It can be used via the LCD panel with the A7 III’s Touch Focus and Touch Pad functionalities, ensuring you never miss a moment and can always keep up with your subject. The 4K High Dynamic Range video is captured without pixel binning and offers the Hybrid Log Gamma profile for extra flexibility in post-production. An astounding achievement for mirrorless cameras and indeed cameras in general, the Sony A7 III must be used to be believed.
