The focal range is perfect for wildlife and sports photography, ably abetted by the floating focus system with double linear motor and DDSSM (Direct Drive SSM) drive systems that are ideal for tracking difficult moving subjects.
The lens features a broad set of controls that give it pleasingly tactile handling, while on the inside it boasts ED and Super ED glass elements to achieve beautifully high resolution in the images it produces. The floating focus system also means that despite its long focal range, it has a minimum focusing distance of just 0.98m, meaning you can be sure you’ll be ready for any situation at all.
